Re: badger cruise

Boatnerd has been trying with the Badger but they are not offering overnight stays anymore and only 1 trip a day. Perhaps that will change in 2023. Marine Historical Society of Detroit took over the Detroit cruise and it was very successful in 2022. Look for it to return early Sept. 2023. As far as the locks cruise is concerned they stopped catering food after COVID and never resumed. Bringing pizza onboard is allowed. So Boatnerd didn't reduce anything except the ticket prices. A student rate was also created in 2022 in order to get younger people involved. The cruise sold out. Look for that cruise also in 2023. Lock Tours Canada was great, but they went out of business many years ago.

before covid boatnerd use to have a round trip cruise, usually in june on the ss badger. you could stay on board {for a fee} the night before. with the badger now owned by barker are they having a cruise in 2023? i know boat nerd use to have a cruise in detroit but it was cancelled due to slow ticket sales. even the boatnerd lock cruise at the soo is reduced to pizza for a meal. i remember when lock tours canada hosted it, great food and prizes.
