these "drydocks" dont have to pumped dry. they are located above look 1 on the welland canal and when the valves are opened the water drains into the canal below lock 1, same leval as lake ontario., perhaps the onlyplace in the world? yes your correct other drydocks ie sturgeon bay, toledo, thunder bay etc. have to be pumped dry.
