I remember seeing that pilot house from the Imperial tanker back in the early 1980s and there was also a painting of it at the Mooretown Museum if I recall correctly. Does anyone know when the pilot house was removed?

the wheelhouse in question is from the imperial hamilton which caught fire. the undamaged pilot house was trucked to corruna ontaio where it was known as "the pilot house musem" it no longer exsists.

its a small world i met one of the 2 sailors who was trapped in his cabin at a waterfront tavern in vancouver a year after the collision. he said i can laugh about it now but at the time he thought he was going to drown. at one time in the 80s there was a wheelhouse/museum on the st clair river near the shell refinery. was it from the cardinal or another tanker? it is no longer there.
