and being a public bridge it likily will allow trucks with DG cargoes to use it. the ambassador bridge does no, thats why trucks carrying DG use the bluewater bridges because they are public bridges not privately owned like the ambassador bridge. the tolls on the public bridge are also less than private. an alternative in detroit is the truck ferry but i dont beieve it operates on weekends.

no it will not replace the ambassador bridge but unlike the amssaador bridge it will be a public crossing, not privately owned

An additional. The truck traffic will be routed through the new bridge. It will connect directly to the highway.

A little off subject here but is the new gordie howe bridge going to replace the ambassador bridge or is this just going to be another way to get to and from canada?
