in the photo of the tecmesh with the mcgregor folding hatch covers is this taken at sorel, quebec? thank you.

they were known as mcgregor pantened hatch covers, made in scotland {if its not scotish its crap} but probably made in china these days. i believe the new barker is equiped with theme

It has MacGregor hatches, which do not require a crane because they fold at the end of the hatch.

In looking at the photograph of the Tecumseh arriving at Port Colborne for scrapping, it does not appear the ship has a hatch crane. Were its hatches powered for opening and closing? If not, how were they operated?
