I noticed photos of her in the builders yard without a unloading boom so I was curious

Looks like she is, she's replacing a self unloader so I hope it's going to be one

Yes, Algoma Bear is a 740' S-U with aft-mounted boom. She will feature some of the improvements of the recent Captain Henry Jackman, like dual rudders for example.
