Re: uscg Spar
Thanks Guest for that update. Hopefully all goes well then up in Duluth-Superior and they don’t have any trouble in fitting out for the 2025 season.

Denny,
The only ice left in the Duluth/Superior harbor is a little bit in the slips.

Re: uscg Spar
I’m sure the USCG Spar and others are probably very busy right now up there as far as trying to clear any ice away and get things ready for the Soo Opening then on March 21 in the morning at 8 A.M. as I’m sure that there will be plenty of ship traffic to come once the Soo opens up. The Twin Ports of Duluth-Superior should see their first official ship movements sometime then this weekend. From the MERC Coal Terminal website, the American Century is due to load coal there on Saturday, March 22. So, the Spar might be busy trying to break out unless it’s already done it the Duluth-Superior harbors and the surrounding channels as well.

Last week, after doing some "initial" icebreaking in Thunder Bay, the USCG Spar headed east to Whitefish Bay. I forgot to check their AIS track after that. Now they are back at Duluth/Superior.
Does anyone know how far they went into Whitefish Bay/St. Mary's River?
