Answered below on your previous post, but the dock she used in Escanaba is not owned by CN. It belongs to North Shore Marine Terminal (Basic Towing). Besides that, not sure of the reason for using Escanaba.

I would tend to believe that if the engine repairs did not require any specialized equipment at a shipyard then it would make no real sense to send the Gott into the shipyard and pay the associated fees that are likely higher than at another dock, in a location not much further away, that would be less costly to dock for an extended period.

Why did the gott go to escanaba for engine repairs instead of sturgeon bay? Is it because uss/Great Lakes fleet owns the dock in escanaba and they wouldn’t have to pay dock fees then?
