I'm seeing the American Mariner now west of the Mackinaw, and American Spirit should be in the Straits of Mackinaw in the early morning on Saturday.

Does anyone out there know why this is?
Lack of coverage. Either not enough shore-based receivers or the ones that exist are offline for some reason.

I live in Mackinaw City and have offered many times to have the AIS equipment in my home to facilitate coverage for the area but so far have been unable to get Boatnerd's cooperation in getting it done.
