Further to MV Thamesborg/Northwest Passage/Arctic Shoaling...
The Wagenborg vessel MV Thamesborg which shoaled in Franklin Strait, Northwest Passage on Sept. 6/25 and freed Oct. 9/25 made a successful passage south under her own power despite damages to her hull and ballast tanks.
On Thursday October 23/25 she reached her originally planned destination port of Baie Comeau, Quebec with cargo intact. I continue to follow her progress following unloading at Baie Comeau.
This release from Arctic waters so close to the onset of winter conditions there is, in my opinion, a stroke of extreme good fortune. No one aboard was injured according to reports. Damages to MV Thamesborg were relatively minor. A very fortunate pair of outcomes!
