Fitzgerald Events in Detroit
Just did a google search on the Mariner’s Church of Detroit and found that they are having lots of events planned in remembrance of the 50th Anniversary and sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Tonight at 6 P.M. at the Mariner’s Church, singer and book Author Mike Fornes will be there on hand singing his version of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald along with giving a speech about the Fitzgerald, interviews I think 🤔 he’s had with family members of the shipwreck and his experiences about it. Then this Sunday then on November 9 af 11 A.M. at the Mariner’s Church in Detroit, they will hold their yearly memorial service to remember all that have been lost on the Great Lakes including remembering the Edmund Fitzgerald. The church bell will also be rung during the service. Then on Monday, November 10th at 12:10 p.m. the church bell at the Mariner’s Church in Detroit will be rung 29 times for all the crewmen who died on the Fitzgerald. Anyone it says can come down to Detroit on Monday to hear the church bell ring and to pause and to remember the Fitzgerald, all of her 29 man crew and to reflect on that horrible, terrible day and night when the ship and her crew were lost. The News Page Editors here at Boatnerd may want to make notes of these events and include them on the News Page! Thank You in advance.
