ASC bought out Lower Lakes and as such owns Grand River Navigation as they are a subsidiary of Lower Lakes. ASC boats are their 1000 footers and the others moved to Grand River / Lower Lakes

Rand Logistics, the parent company of Lower Lakes and Grand River Navigation, purchased ASC back in 2020. In 2021, the Boland and several other ASC vessels were placed on bareboat charter to Grand River and received their stack colors, although the Boland is the only one to receive the Indian Head insignia so far.

All the river class boats are now run under lower lakes or grand river after the sale of ASC a few years ago. Only the footers are still under the ASC flag

In 2021 I think it was? ASC leased a few of their smaller vessels to GRN or to Grand River Navigation Company. Beginning in 2021, those leased vessels then had the ASC stack and logos painted out and then the LLT logos were painted on other then the native Indian head logo. The Boland however just had the Indian head logo put on her stack I think 🤔 just last season if I am corrrct on this? She is the only vessel thus far that has the logo while the other leased vessels American Courage, American Mariner, H. Lee White and the Sam Laud do not yet have the Indian head logos on their stacks as of yet! They have just the LLT/GRN stack and colors and stripes is all. Interesting on the Boland as to why she’s the only one to get the Indian head logos? When I saw that last year at first I thought “Maybe they could be repainting her to gray and renaming and or reflagging her possibly?” So far at least other then the stack change and logos, there’s been no major changes to her appearance. We’ll have to wait and see if anything ever does happen with her then. Hope that I’ve answered your questions for you. Glad I could help.

Watched the Boland downbound Port Huron this afternoon. She’s carrying the Lower Lakes insignias on the funnel. Always thought she was an ASC boat. Curious to know the story on this, please.
