Sailor in seasons 1941-1944

I am curious if anyone has any information on a man named Charles Edward Avery, he sailed in the early 1940s for about 3 years. From my understanding he sailed on boats hauling grain. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about where he sailed, what boats and/or what company. Please let me know if you any information.
