Hi,
I'm pretty sure that was Kaye Barker there on Sunday. Herbert had come down to the Rouge and went right back up again. She has already been back to Marquette Mi. and is downbound again on Lake Huron now. I think she's just below Alpena now. Pretty certain it was Kaye Barker in Sandusky on Sunday.

Was the Jackson in Sandusky on Sunday? I was at Cedar Point and saw an Interlake Steamship boat leaving the bay, but I couldn't read the name. If it was the Jackson, it seems to be making a lot of trips to Sandusky this year. Why is that?

Hi akopin,
I use to watch the ships load on the Sandusky Bay cam which has been down for some time. I thought it was the best. You can watch on the Sandusky Register cam also, and can see pretty good to watch the hopper. The video above is in Buffalo NY and I think it's beautiful.
Hope you enjoy watching them load coal as much as I do.

I think that may have been taken with a personal video camera not one of the web cams availablein the area.

Hi There! Such an informative post!)
I didn't see an answer though, to the questions about which webcam you got to see hoppers emptying coal? Was it in Sandusky? If so, was it the link that said 'Sandusky Bay'? That one is down now, so I can't tell. I'd be most grateful if you could let me know, as I'd love to watch and see how that all works!!

She looks beautiful coming into Sandusky. Thanks to whoever is driving the cam too. You drive it better than I do.

Obviously replace the word at with the symbol.
I have some HCJ stuff including some video shot last night, I can share with you.
Primarily due to navigation issues with that page, and a concern over how the images are handled.

Hope the cam worked out for you.

Hey Kitten,
There is actually one cam in Buffalo where you could potentially catch ships coming in
http://www.nittec.org/mobile/5-117.html
http://www.wgrz.com/travel/traffic/corr ... filter=190
I have used it to check if anything is at General Mills, but never tried catching an arrival on it. I am not sure how often it updates, and I think it is manual refresh. But if Jackson is coming to Buffalo tonight 7/22, it will pass right under the bridge this cam is looking at.

Hi B & B, I'm thinking the Jackson should get there either late today or tomorrow, not sure. They're not close enough to show up on my screen right now. Saw them leaving from a place called Leamington yesterday afternoon. Not sure what is there. Hope to learn though. If you see her I hope you get some pictures. I'd love to see.
I will try to find what you asked me to check out. Thanks.

You bet I do, and because of information that people like you are good enough to post, I get to see them more often. Read my vessel passage section on Buffalo. Thanks.
I wondered, Why did you daughter pick the Anderson as her favorite ship? Any particular reason, or just because?
She knows the history of the Fitz, In fact she just completed a science project at her school on the Fitz. We had been to the Great Lakes Maritime Museum at Whitefish Point on many occasions and she read all she could about the Fitz and she found out the Anderson was the trailing boat to the Anderson that night. Since then, she just kept following it. She has drawn me a picture of the Anderson that I have on the wall in my office. Personally, I think she just likes the GLF racing strips on the front! :)
