Re: Info on art
my wife is a watercolorist. she belongs to the local fine arts association which is mostly other artists. They have an annual art show (juried) and she gets into other area shows as well. she also has her work in local galleries. We are in WI and she has taken some of her works to galleries in Door County. You might try on knocking on doors in Green Bay or try to enter a show there to get your "name" out. That's probably the the closest city to you with a reasonably good sized market. Just be advised, marine art is a very narrow and specialized market.

I don't know if you are interested in consignment. I am in the process of moving my business to Charlevoix Michigan and I am going to have a large office space available which I am attempting to turn into a retail outlet. All I would need is a documented quantity of items priced with what you would like to sell them for. I consign for 70% to artist and 30% to me. If you are interested call Jason at (231) 237-9365 to discuss.

Re: Info on art
Hi M Duncan, I am not familiar with that medium. Can you tell me a place on-line where I can see examples of digital art?
Thanks!
Thanks!

What about digital artists?
I have been creating a rather large projectas digital art and at some point would like to look at having prints made available etc...
What are your feelings on that since it is not a traditional art medium?

Re: Info on art
There are a couple of maritime art organizations. There is the Int'l Society of Marine Painters. (think it is www.ismpart.com). There is an American society as well. Join those and enter their juried shows. I'm a professional member of the ISMP and it brings some traffice and recognition to your work.
Good luck,

Re: Info on art
I would start with getting a website up. Unless you manage to get a gallery or store to sell your work it will be your most effective (if not only) way of selling work in any quantity. Put a lot of care in to it and if you are not good with web design try and get a friend who is to help. A good looking website where it is easy to buy the works is likely to be one of your best tools.

Info on art
Hello all, not sure if anyone here can help, or if I am in the wrong area, but I am an aspiring maritime artist that creates black and white drawings of great lakes vessels. I am looking for any info on how to start making my art work available for sale. I was considering starting a website of the vessels I currently have drawn. Any help would be appreciated. I am located in Marinette, Wisconsin.
Thanks in advance!
