Coke was shipped last year from Zug Island in river Rouge, MI to Cleveland and Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
On sundays boat cruse there is a large pile of coke at Nicholson Terminal & dock in Ecorse, Mi. Looks to be from Servstal Steel going to Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Servstal Steel has alos received coke by boat in the past.
I could be way off base here but I thought the coke at NTD in Ecorse last year was being put on a Federal ship for use overseas. Because our coke was/is that much cheaper. They are trucking it in from somewhere. But I've seen Federal ships doing Lake Ship business on their way out of the Great Lakes.

Re: Coke shipped on the Lakes
Dave, both Beemsterboer and KCBX ship coke, the petroleum variety, out of South Chicago quite a bit. Most of the coke out of KCBX seems to be destined to Canadian locations, at least judging by the vessels Ive seen loading there.
Coke shipped on the Lakes
Is there any coke shipped via lake boats now or in the past few years? Thanks!
