Construction industry and demand for cement is way down. If the economy returned to something more like 2004 - 2007 levels there would be plenty of work for the Alpena - she's a relatively recent conversion and has had a decent amount of work done to keep her turbine modern and efficient, so I doubt she's sitting at the wall so much because she's old and tired. There are simply not enough cargoes to keep her busy these days.

I do believe that the Paul Townsend has been being used as a storage/transfer vessel for a few years now.

Just wondering why the Alpena spends so much time in short lay up? Is there no cargos for her or is she on her way out? This week the innovation did a transfer with her. Did they take cargo from her or load her with a stodge load? Also what's the status and plans for the the Paul h townsand? Is she done or could she be used as a storage vessel? Thanks Daniel
