My cold weather veggies are up and doing well...lettuce, radishes, parsley, turnips, beets, carrots....beans going in this week and zuchinni seeds, but tomatoes must wait until 1st. of June...after all, this is da UP, eh?...LOL

we had frost this week and frost warnings last night in WI. still too early to plant, maybe around Memorial Day.

Hi, I don't know about straw bale gardening. Sounds interesting though.
I was just out working in my garden. Everything looks nice so far. Hoping for the best. Hope to put up tomatoes and maybe a few beans. Just wish I knew a trick for keeping stray dogs and cats out of it.

Season has been very cold up here so far, so just getting into it now. First year for trying "straw bale gardening". Is going to be a real experience. Most of our deck containers are for flowers --- but not all!
