i should of said they were several miles east of thunder bay island

Probably training new crew members in the automated navigation system or calibrating it. A little late in the season to be working buoys, unless something needs repair.

Probably buoy tending.

does anyone know what the mackinaw is doing off of alpena on ais seems to be going back and forth ?
