There ia a picture of the W.C. Richardson crane boat, on Boatnerd, in her last days as a crane dock in the Port of Toledo. It can be found by typing "Jim Hoffman" in the search box. "Marine Photography by Jim Hoffman" will be in the results page and contains the picture.

There were two Richardsons that I am aware of. There was the R. R. Richardson and the W. C. Richardson. Based on the time frame you mentioned, you are probably looking for the W. C. Richardson that was originally built as the Wainwright and opperated up until 1977. If you go to the Bowling Green site, http://ul.bgsu.edu/cgi-bin/xvsl2.cgi , and use Richardson as a search term, you will get a photo, dimensions, and a brief history of each boat.

Does anyone have any info or know where I might go to find information about a freighter by the name of Richardson. I have no other info other that a friend's dad worked on a 'boat' called the Richardson about 40-50 years ago. The family lived in Ohio. thanks
