they didn't replace the engines they are doing overhaul of azipods props and hull repairs. She would be in the yard longer then a couple months swapping the plant out. when we took her out to gros cap this past spring to lay Chief to rest you could see the hard work she had put in on the hull there was a lot wear and tear on her

The list says nothing about new or overhauled engines. It looks like a good checkup and maintenance after a hard winter. It does say Sea Trials though.

I was ready in the news section that the Mackinaw possibly had her engines replaced. She's not that old and had, if I recall correctly has 36 series Cats. It seems unusual that she'd have issues this soon. The Mississagi has had her 3612 for 30 years, and the Cuyahoga and Joyce L. VanEnkevort have had 36's for about 15 years. The Algoma Progress has had two 3612's for almost 25 years. The only big failures of 36 series Catterpillars I've heard is on MK5000 Locomotives, and that had more to do with the Kato generators they used.
Anyone know any more?
