Ohio State played an outstanding game against MSU last weekend. They played a terrific game against a tough team. They deserve to lead the Big 10. U of M will have a tough time with Ohio State. The final score will be larger than 31-0 ( the N D vs U of M final score ).

Well Dave, with the College Championship series using the Rose Bowl as a semi-final game of the top four teams, I am betting non of the Big Ten teams will see the stadium this year. Maybe Oregon from the PAC 10....

Denny, for some reason they changed the division names from Legends and Leaders to East and West. I agree that Maryland and Rutgers don't add much to the conference at least as far as football goes.
Ohio Bob, OSU played an impressive game against a tough MSU team, but now, of course, they will be crushed in Minneapolis by the mighty Golden Gophers and...well, maybe that won't happen but I hope we play a good game against the Buckeyes. When you haven't won a conference title since 1967 or gone to the Rose Bowl since 1961, you learn to temper your expectations. In 1982 I vowed to live long enough to see Minnesota play in the Rose Bowl, I hope I make it.

I say they should have added Notre Dame to the Big 10 as you look at their schedule they used to play Michigan every season and they also play against Michigan State as well. I say why not put the Irish in the Big 10 and make it interesting? Yeah I know they have been Independent for many years. Look at some of the other Big 10 schools they play along with U-M and MSU as they also play Purdue as well. To me it just makes more sense to add the Irish to the Big 10 someday. Maybe another reason to why our conference (The Big 10) doesn't get much credit is the way that they split up the Big 10 into the two divisions the Legends and the Leaders.

Well I am happy to say my prognostication was wrong. It was a good game all around. The next problem for all of us is the Big Ten Conference gets no respect when the conversation turns to the National Title games. I don't think our conference did itself any favors by adding Rutgers and Maryland. Wrong direction which will come back to haunt Big Ten teams for decades!

Well, it looks like the Spartans got beat by the Buckeyes up in East Lansing last night as the final score was 49-37 and that now drops MSU to 7-2 overall in the standings I believe? Also, U of M barely beat Northwestern yesterday 10-9 and their record is now at either 4-4 or 5-4 on the season I don't know for sure which one it is? I also saw an article the other day on my home page about Michigan's future coach someday. One name that was talked and mentioned believe it or not is Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and how he has turned that program around. Okay so he hasn't won a national title in a long time with Oklahoma but, give this guy credit as Oklahoma is still up their in the rankings and has won their conference titles on a consistent basis and appeared also in bowl games and BCS games I think as well. Could he be coming to Ann Arbor someday? Probably not but, one can only dream and hope of the possibilities though!

The weather Saturday night could be a major factor. I believe the weather folks are calling for rain mixed with snow at game time. Not a very nice way to spend the evening ! I see this game being a coin toss for all the marbles.

Despite being a lifelong Buckeye fan, I don't see them pulling this one off. Their competition this year has been quite light. VT was the strongest opponent and yet now they are playing poorly. Add in Barrett has a leg issue which is limiting his mobility and his plant foot for the deep throw. MSU is solid on both sides of the ball with good depth at nearly every position.

The Big 10 football game of the week will be played this Saturday ( Nov. 8th. ) at Spartan stadium ( 8:00 kickoff ). The current odds have MSU + 2 over Ohio State with the final score 32-30 for MSU. This will be the biggest game of the year ( so far ) for both teams. It looks to be a very important game for each team. Anyone have any thoughts on the game ?
