From the wild depths of Superior
Down the seaways of the Great Lakes
To the tempest squalls of Erie
Above shipwrecks on the bottoms
Over schooners, skiffs and steamers
Where ghostly crews 'stand the watch'
Below - In these lethal Inland Seas
Phantom ships and mariners sail on
In calm, in fog, or galling storm
On course, glory bound from the deep!
