Strange sighting at Bay Shipbuilding

Theyre two platform supply vessels they built for Tidewater Marine in 2011.

I was looking at the AIS map today, and found out it also will do satallite images too. Realizing the images are not current, it still made me curious as to why there appears to be 2 halves of ships tied up to the dock. Appears the forward half of two freighters are tied up, but cleanly cut off.

Are these now just work platforms made from old ships? If so, what they start out life as?
