Forecast is for 11-14's starting tomorrow, building to 14-18, with random 22' waves...tough seas, and it is a NNE wind...

Didn't check Lake Michigan weather, but I'll guess there is a strong NNE wind blowing. Both boats are due in Gary and it's impossible to get into Gary with the wind blowing from that direction. When I was on the Clarke way back when, we'd cruise back and forth on the Michigan side of the Lake waiting for the winds to change or die down so we could get into Gary. I don't know how it is with a self-unloader, but we'd have to stop unloading under the huletts because you'd get storm surges that would run the length of the slip.

...just did a U-turn north of Grand Haven and now appears anchored facing northbound, very near shore...what's up? I see the Edgar Speer with a similar track near Ludnington
