I wish to publicly thank the Boatnerd volunteers for resurrecting the Historical Perspectives Gallery after a one year hiatus. I also thank the many contributors who have provided photos for the Gallery, and Russ Plumb for compiling the lists of Captains and Chief Engineers. These Galleries are my favorite portion of this site since most of my interest in Great Lakes shipping centers on the historical rather then the current era. Seeing the Galleries gives me a glimpse of what the Lakes looked like long before I started watching the boats during the 1970's, and I really enjoy looking for new photos that have been posted. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing the next ship added.
