Thanks for the pic Marty. That's them. Depending on weather the tug Valeria B. should be leaving Port Sheldon tomorrow morning with the empty barges - returning to Rogers City for the next two loads. There will be two more loads after that.

I wondered what those were. Here's a picture of the loaded barge in Rogers City from last week.

I am answering my own question. I live on Pigeon Lake which is where Consumers Energy is having these large pieces of equipment shipped to there generating plant here. This past Tuesday morning the first two barges arrived.
I asked one of the guys from the tug from Burocher Marine where these parts were from. He said that a company in Onaway, MI made the parts - some of which are huge - and then trucked 12 miles East to Rogers City on special trailers and then loaded on the barges and then towed around to Port Sheldon.

Barges loaded with equipment for Consumers Power

In today's (5-29-10) Grand Haven port report - it says that the Burocher Marine tug Valeria B. brought in two barges loaded with equipment for the Consumers Power Plant in Port Sheldon. Who made this equipment and where were the barges loaded at?
