Carleton Island

Be very careful boating on the south side of the island toward the west end . its shallow all the way from the us mainland to just a very short distance from the island. Last time I went through there was a line of bouys that you stayed on the north side of. Watch your chart and be careful. A lot of thin hard water in the area

I'm planning a boating trip into the St. Lawrence River. Is Carleton Island part of the Thousand Island section of the river? I know its part of New York State but was wondering if it is consider part of the Thousand Islands.
