Hey tugboathunter, to answer your comment about the Cubs and the fact that they got all of their rich talent and paid to get them, it almost sounds similar if you will I think it is to the 2002 Red Wings team that won the Stanley Cup that season. If my memory is right and correct here, that team had tons of veterans and talent and the Wings owner Mike Illitch went out and signed all of these guys and brought legendary coach Scotty Bowman in to win the Cup for the Wings. Point is, Mr. Illitch paid a ton and boatload to get all of those people in here and assemble and put together a winning team that would eventually win the Stanley Cup and bring it back home to Hockeytown. Remember the Dominator as the goalie and then they got Brett Hull as well those are some of the people that I remember from that team maybe I am off and wrong but I hope you know what I mean? So I can compare the Cubs team in part to the Wings of 2002 but, the Wings had more veterans I think as to the Cubs having more younger players? Glad to see the Cubs won!

I'm not a Cubs fan at all, but some of the romanticism of this win is lost on me. The Cubs were the odds-on favorites to win the World Series this year. Their team is absolutely stacked from top to bottom, with the best offense and the best pitching staff. They signed Jon Lester to a big deal, went in and signed John Lackey, signed Dexter Fowler, signed Zobrist, signed Heyward to huge money, and traded for Chapman. And they had the best record in baseball. To me, the real upset would have been if anybody but the Cubs won the World Series. Sure, they have developed a few stars in Rizzo and Bryant and Hendricks, but it almost feels like they bought this championship with all of the established playoff talent that they brought in.

Well Mike the Cubs did Win and beat the Indians last week and I predicted and knew all along that the Cubs would win and that is why I went with them as I just had that feeling that nothing could stop them and that this was gonna be their year and the fact that they would reverse all of the curses and bring home the title for the first time in 108 years. I can see the Cubs being around for a while at least and don't know if they will make back again next year as it is very hard to repeat as champions of any sport and not saying it can't be done but, it is definitely not easy to repeat again. Time will tell and we will have to wait and see what next year holds.

I sincerely apologize Guest for overlooking that one and thanks as well for correcting me on my mistake and error. Yes, you are so right that the Blackhawks have indeed one the NHL title now for the past few seasons. So, if I may correct myself and now I also stand corrected about the Blackhawks and their NHL titles in the last few seasons. Chicago as far as I know at least has the Cubs and Blackhawks as two of the elite teams at least in the Windy City and I guess the White Sox are fairly good in baseball and don't know so much about the Bulls in basketball? Anyway, let's try to get back on the subject here of the World Series 2016. Well folks the Cubs saying "It's Gonna Happy and It is Still Gonna Happen!" Well indeed it did happen in Cleveland last night as the Tribe got routed by the Cubs 9-3 and now we have a Game 7 to watch and to look forward to tomorrow night. What more can a person ask for than a Game 7 and in the World Series? This is how it should be and a good pitching matchup besides from what I am hearing so far at least. I am still pulling and rooting for the Cubs and their fans as well to pull this one out and end the 100 year drought of not winning the championship. This is the Cubs year sorry to say Indians fans as the time has come for them to win it all this year. So, Go Cubs Go and beat the Indians and bring home the title!

I second that Brian and agree with you. Besides folks, just take a look at the Bears as they are one of the worst teams in the NFL right now and Yes I know that they upset the Vikes on Monday. Like you said Brian, Chicago needs something good for that city with all of the violence and crimes that have taken place in 2016. Other than the Cubs right now, none of their Sports teams is worth a plug nickel IMO right now. The Cubs inspire their fans and a few people that follow them. Like I said before in my previous posts before, I want the Cubs to win for many reason but mostly so my cousin and Uncle in Ohio don't razz on me! The Tigers came back in 1968 on the road in St. Louis to beat the Cards in seven games so why not the Cubs in 2016? It would make for a storybook finish and ending IMO to this year's World Series. Go Cubs beat the Tribe!

I'm a Tigers fan and I spent the better part of my college years working on ships during the summer hearing from the Toledo and Cleveland and guys how awful the Tigers were and how good the Indians were, it was exhausting. On the Burns Harbor we even had an Indians flag....... I'd normally pull for a fellow Central Division team but I got to go with the Cubs, Chicago needs something to cheer about more than Cleveland. Besides you guys got the NBA title.

Check out the Sports Illustrated website and photos. It talks and shows teams in the WS that have come back from a 3-1 deficit and ironically, the 1968 Detroit Tigers it shows being one of those teams that came back from being down 3-1 to beat the Cardinals in the 1968 World Series. I haven't looked into yet but I am sure there are more teams that have come back from being down 3-1 in the World Series. Cubs still have their work cut out for them with the next two games back at Cleveland and having to both of them while Cleveland only needs to win one. Should be a great finish to this years' World Series. Also read that last night's WS game drew more TV viewers than the NFL's Sunday Night game between the Eagles and Cowboys. Still pulling for the Cubs. Go Cubs Go!

Should be some phenominal pitching coming up. The Cubs have to be confident with Arrieta and Hendricks starting the last two games, but Josh Tomlin has pitched well beyond expectations thus far in October, and of course Kluber is the safety net in Game 7 should Arrieta out-duel Tomlin.

The Cubs bats are hot right now, but they were hot coming into Tomlin's game 3 start also, and we all saw how that went. If I'm Terry Francona though, I might pull Tomlin at the first sign of trouble. It seemed like he left Trevor Bauer in a few batters too long last night, and he probably should have taken him out as soon as he surrendered the leadoff homer to Bryant in the fourth.

Well surprise sports fans as the Cubs Won and beat the Indians in Chicago and at Wrigley Field 3-2 and it was the Cubs' first win in a World Series game at least at Wrigley Field since 1945 the last time they played in one. So now the World Series is headed back to Cleveland where the Indians or Tribe lead it 3-2. The Cubs still have to win the next two games in Cleveland where as the Tribe need to win only one game. There are no games on Halloween with it being a travel day. So, the next game is on Tuesday night which will be Game 6 and if necessary Game 7 will be on Wednesday in Cleveland. Go Cubs Go and beat the Indians and the Tribe and as there fans say, "It's Gonna Happen yet baby just you wait and see!"

Just checked the scoreboard and they are at the bottom of the 7th inning in Game 4 at Wrigley Field in Chicago and the Cubs are now losing 7-1 to the Indians and it does not look good for the Cubs and their fans now sorry to say. It appears the Indians are going to be taking a commanding 3-1 game and series lead over the Cubs with the clincher possibly being tomorrow night in Chicago. I have to say and sorry to tell you this Cubs fans but, after tonight's game I am afraid that the Cubs may be done and their dream of winning their first series since 1908 may also be done. What a shame as they waited 71 years since 1945 just to get to this point and they have not won a title since 1908. Well give them credit for doing what they did this year and winning over 100 games and making it to the World Series as not too many MLB teams can say that one!

I guess you could say that the homecoming of sorts for Cubs fans and the city of Chicago and Wrigley Field did not go so well as the Tribe won last night's game 1-0. Now the Cubs have their backs to the wall and down 2-1 to the Indians. Like I said in one of my posts earlier, the Cubs need to somehow win at least 2 out of 3 from the Indians in Chicago to have any fighting chance of beating them for the title. After losing last night's game to the Indians, now they have to win the next two games at least IMO or it is all done and over with sorry to say Cubs fans. Tonight's game is a do or die game for the Cubs as they have to win and come back and even the Series up somehow. Should be interesting to watch and see how it turns out. Still rooting for the Cubs. Go Cubs Go and Win!

Well the Cubs came back last night and won! Let's see now what they can do when the Series shifts to Chicago for this weekend? They have to win IMO at least two games in Chicago to have any chance of beating the Tribe. Next three games are at Chicago and Cleveland is at home for Games 6 and 7 if it goes that far anyway. Should be a fun and interesting World Series and Go Cubs!

Go Cubs...... but the way Cleveland is playing I don't give the Cubs much of a chance. Denny I miss the voice of Harry a lot, grew up watching Cubs and Tiger games good times.

I don't really watch sports anymore (I haven't watched network television for 5 years) but with some of the World Series being played in Cleveland I was wondering if the security arrangements effect any shipping operations? I'm assuming that F-16s of the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio ANG at Toledo will be enforcing a no-fly zone during the game.

With the Red Wings playing on TV - I prefer to watch a sport that moves at a faster pace than a snail. one can miss 1 hour of baseball and not miss anything !

I know all the hype this year has been with the Cubs. Which ever team wins it's going to be a team from the Midwest, but I have to pick the Indians. Same division as the Tigers, and having lived in MN the past 37 years, the Twins. I'm also old enough to remember when Terry Francona's Dad played with the Tigers, so go Indians!!
