Thank you all very much. What an interesting ship. It is good to know that it is not completely forgotten. My son and I are beginning work on a scale model of her and we greatly appreciate the help.

When she was the ATLAS TRAVELER on her first trips to Rochester, NY had a black hull and the USS logo on her stack.

Yep, she was always gray in the Erie Navigation Fleet with a orange and black stack. She was still that paint scheme while she was in the Medusa Cement fleet until her scrapping in 1989.

Judging by this photo, she had a grey hull and the Erie Sand stack.

Hello, I am researching the Loc Bay and was wondering if she sported Erie Navigation's familiar green paint scheme when under their ownership. I can only find black and white photos of her. Any help is greatly appreciated.
