Years ago there was a resort at the far end of Sugar Island. Not sure what is there now. It's been years since I have been down there. But if you can get down to the beach there would some nice morning light on the upbounds coming around the point.

Looking at the maps, there might be a spot near 6-Mile Road, or another spot just below the ferry landing, but that appears to be about it.

Sugar Island Question
Are there any locations on Sugar Island to take pictures of the ships on the St. Marys River. It seems like that would be a good spot to get pictures of river traffic early in the day with the sun behind you. Although I have seen some older pictures from before the 1980s that appear to have been taken from Sugar Island, there don't seem to be many newer ones.
