The Wallschiff sank roughly straight across from the Fort Gratiot Rear Range Light on the Canadian side of the river.

The German freighter Wallschiff sank in the St. Clair River following a collision with the steamer Pioneer in 1953. Where did this sinking take place? I grew up in the area and it was seldom mentioned.
