She loaded in Marquette then headed NW to ride it out in the lee of the Keweenaw in Bete Grise. The question is; why wouldnt she lay in the shelter of the lower harbor, and save herself the several hours of sea time just to walk it back once the winds die down ? It would seem both locations would provide adequate quiet water from a stiff west wind ?

I see how the K Barker loaded in Marquette then headed NW to anchor and wait out the winds in the shelter of the Keweenaw Pen. in Bete Grise.
