Ahoy there all you boatnerds out there in boatnerd land & country. Went to my Doctor today for another update and checkup. My progress is really coming along very well and very quickly and things are definitely now headed and moving in the right direction FINALLY after all of this time and dealing with my heel & foot issue for over a year and a half now. I won’t say or go into much on the details other than this, the doctor and his medical team are all fully confident that I am on the road to making a complete 100% recovery one day and someday from this whole ordeal. This I will say also will be my last update for a while now on my status! I say this only because I wish to wait until I’m given full 100% weight bearing status on my heel and foot before I update you all again. Hope you all understand my reasons for waiting to update? I do not want to jinx or bring any type of bad luck, news or mis-fortune now as I’m very close to having this whole issue someday resolved! Although it’s still very early to predict, say or tell could Denny possibly soon be seeing the PRT for real at the river along with many others as well? Could Denny’s favorite season and his catch theme and phrase “Autumn Thunder be making yet another return and comeback in the 2025 shipping season then?” Only God knows the answer and time will tell us all the answers IF this then could be the beginning of the comeback for the ages! I guess maybe I need to listen to my music stuff more than I do. For instance, “Don’t Stop Beleving!” And also “Don’t Give Up The Ship!” I wish I had that flag as I’d love to use it at the river or anything. If anyone knows where and how to get one I’d appreciate hearing from you. A local place that sells and makes up flags will work out nicely and for a size of the flag nothing too large or enormous! I have an Interlake House Flag like their ships use and it’s enormous and huge! I can’t hold it up by myself as I need help to hold that flag up.

Hey everyone just wanted to give you a short but brief update on my heel and foot situation. I’m still recovering and trying to rehab both while back home again. I still continue to see the Foot Doctor a new one BTW and No not the same guy I saw in all of 2024 which really messed me up super big time for sure & certain! There is some glimmer of hope and light 🙏 at the end of the tunnel. A few short weeks ago when I saw the Doctor, he said my progress was steadily looking good and moving forward as far as my recovery and progress. Out of 100% total weight bearing to which BTW, No I’m not quite there at that point just yet! The Doctor and his head nurse both told me that I’m up to 66% weight bearing so far. 👍🙏 So, there are signs of hope with all of this. I still have to wear a walking boot most all of the time while the sore and wound itself ultimately & eventually closes to 100% at some point then. Also and YES, I can remove and take the boot off at night then when I’m sleeping. It’s definitely NOT an easy thing trying to walk in the boot and I still can only do & put partial weight bearing on my heel and my foot. So, I’m still confide to just my upstairs part of my home only for now until I can regain 100% total weight bearing then again someday at some point then. Right now, I still cannot go up or down into my basement or do any type of going up or down stairs right now. So, I’m very limited as to what I can really do right now. I still cannot do any driving as yet so long as I have to wear the walking boot and until my Doctor says that I’m back then at 100% total weight bearing! I don’t really do too much here at home to occupy all of the free time that I have. YES I’m well aware of the live cams to follow and track the PRT my all time favorite ship along with many others. However, while in Rehab as was the case when I was sick in 2023 and in Rehab as well. I accumulated hundreds even thousands of pictures taken on my devices from the live cams. It became an issue as far as “What do I do with all the images & pictures?” I’ve tried to move them off of my devices onto a thumb drive but even this requires lots of time and work in order to finish and complete. Take for instance, last week I had over 3,300 photos just in my library on my phone. Yeah I know that many people have far more than that! So, last week I began to transfer them from my phone to a thumb drive. In a matter of a few days, I reduced that total down to now less than 300 in my library and well less than 100 in my deleted items. So I made lots of progress there. Now the big problem I have is with my tablet as that has far more photos to it. Right now, I have less than 900 photos on my tablet and under 400 in my deleted items. I’m trying my hardest and best to remove them from my tablet and transfer them over onto a thumb drive yet with that many photos to do, it’s a very time consuming operation and job as you all might expect. That’s why, I’ve avoided going to the live cams to see and track the ship action and PRT! With so many images and photos to sort through, I don’t need to be adding more to my collection of photos that’s for sure and certain! You could say in all fairness, taking photos from the live cams is just my way of seeing the ship action without actually being out at the river in person if that makes any sense? You all can’t even begin to put into words, think and imagine how difficult it is to just sit at home, look and watch TV and the internet and live cams and NOT be able to do much about what you really enjoy and like to do. But hey, I’m not complaining too much as I’m thankful and grateful to have all these things to see, do and to watch! Like my Dad would often say, “Be grateful for what you have as it could br much worse and to always count your blessings and finally you deal with the hand that’s been dealt to you!” I’ve tried my best boatnerd friends to do all of these things. It’s just at times it can get lonely during the daytime hours and disappointing, frustrating and depressing as well and as you might imagine I have my moments and good days and bad days but somehow I try my best to get through it all. Thanks for reading boatnerd friends. Be Well.

'Tis foul weather out today with heat and high humidity.
Definitely a day to stay cool, hydrated, and enjoy ship traffic on the webcams. I'm so thankful for the chain of them to feed my need!
You are, understandably, frustrated and missing being there to watch ship traffic on the river.
From what you've shared, I believe your ongoing health
issues have been addressed and that you are working with your medical team to literally get back on your feet ASAP.
Consider me one of many cheerleaders who want to see you succeed!
Belated birthday wishes, too!
P.S. you are only a few months younger than my late son, Michael.

Still here EJB but also still recovering from my foot and heel issues. It’s a very long story to talk about and unfortunately I don’t think the good folks at boatnerd will allow me to say or talk too much about it. I can try to narrow it down this way, after Easter I checked into a hospital for a few days before I could go into a Rehab place. I then entered Rehab on April 24 and spent 2 full months in Rehab before FINALLY being discharged and let out last Tuesday. You all cannot begin to imagine how good it is to be back home again!😃 However, all in the process I may or may not have said back in April that I had an infection in my right foot and heel down and around where the bone area is. So, in Rehab I had to be on Antibiotics for 6-7 weeks and taking it up to 3 times a day which wasn’t fun but, it was the only way to help with the infection. So, the infection is gone but now I’m left with bigger problems! I had to have foot surgery in late May to try and help close an open ulcer wound sore that I’m still dealing with today! The surgery, they took a piece of skin and put a graph over the wound area. Since late May, I can’t put hardly much weight on my foot or my heal to help allow the graph and everything else to heal up. I’m currently in a walking boot and will be for quite sometime yet probably a few more months! Most likely I won’t get to the river this Summer and my foot and heel issues could go deep into the Fall Season! So, it’s hard to say at this point if or even when I will return to the river again much less see my all time favorite boat the PRT then soon! While I still try my best to watch the boat action on the webcams, I may miss a few but I’ve seen quite a few also including Yes the PRT and the new Algoma Endeavour as well. It’s been a tough couple of years for me health wise as many of you all know. Somehow though I’ll get through this and someday hopefully, I’ll climb that boatnerd mountain ⛰️ and hopefully be back on top again! Also to all boatnerds, I have another birthday 🎂 coming up on Saturday, July 5 but I’m not saying how old I am other than I’m over 50 and that’s all I need to say on that issue. In the meantime I wish all boatnerds out there A Very Happy & Safe July 4th holiday and weekend. Enjoy the 4th and enjoy our Freedom and our Independence as well. Please be Safe everyone, stay cool and drink lots of water and keep and stay hydrated as well. Thanks in advance for any birthday 🎂 wishes along with any comments, thoughts and prayers as they are most and always appreciated especially in times like this for me. As you might expect, I have my good days and bad along with my good moments and bad. Throughout this ordeal with my foot and heal, I’ve tried to stay strong 💪 and to keep a positive outlook and attitude. My late Dad would often tell me many things, but one he’d always tell me “Count your blessings, things can always be worse!” Believe me folks I saw with my own eyes in Rehab how worse, patients with legs amputated and a few that could not see and that were blind. Many told me in Rehab “Be thankful and grateful that your infection didn’t get worse to where you could have lost your right foot and even your right leg!” I agree with what they said! Take care everyone and I’ll try to update you on my progress. Also, NO I cannot drive on my own either for a few months while my foot and heel get better. I can only walk upstairs in my home and cannot really do any stair climbing or go in or out of my basement to which is where I have my old Computer as that has Windows 10 and all the programs I like. All my photos are on thumb drives but not backed up either although some I still have on Cards. My computer upstairs is newer and it has Windows 11 to which I haven’t used much of and still trying to learn it and figure it out someday! Take care everyone. Thank You and thanks to all of the boatnerds out there as well! Last I wish a late Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦 like I do every year to our neighbors and our best friends as well all value your friendships very much. To the boatnerds volunteers, thanks for all you do here for us!
