Would this in any imply that there are no plans to restart steel operations at the Rouge in the near future?Guest wrote: December 6, 2025, 12:01 am There have been no ore deliveries to the Rouge since it was idled. In fact, product has moved outbound. The Algoma Innovator loaded ore twice from the Rouge to Quebec City over the summer, and later the John J. Boland loaded twice at the Rouge for Torco in Toledo, what I can assume was also iron ore pellets.

Re: Rouge ore deliveries
Cliffs is the final customer of the iron ore at both docks in Toledo (Torco and Ironville). Ore from Torco is railed to the Cliffs mill in Middletown Ohio.

Re: Rouge ore deliveries
No ore deliveries has been taken to Rouge since Cliffs idled the furnaces there this past Summer. You are correct also, Cliffs has taken ore pellets to Burns Harbor, Indiana Harbor 7H, Toledo and Cleveland. The Torco loads come from Marquette and Duluth. The Ironville Dock in Toledo they get their ore pellets mostly from Silver Bay. Van Enkevort usually serves the Ironville Dock although I’ve seen Interlake, GLF and Grand River Boats take a few loads there also from Silver Bay. Hope this information helps helps you out. Glad I could help answer your questions. Happy Holidays to you along with your family as well. Don’t know either about future plans to fire up & restart the furnaces at Rouge? Haven’t heard anything on that one lately so far!

Rouge ore deliveries
With the Rouge/Severstal/Cliffs blast furnaces idled, has there been any ore deliveries to that dock? Any plans to fire that up again? Cliffs is only running Cleveland, Burns Harbor and 7H at Indiana Harbor, correct? Toledo and the Torco dock, who is that steelmaker? Thanks!
