Maybe this was the banks' idea after the April refinancing.
Old ships declining cargo demand and really bad $ decisions plus bad vessel operation and maintenance. How could they have so many fires mishaps and collisions? You’re probably correct about the bank being involved. Good point

Rand Logistics filed a trademark application in the US on December 11 and in Canada on December 15. Here is a Linked In post announcing that Rand Logistics is now Mainstay Maritime.

No mention of Mainstay Maritime on the Rand website, which I realize may not have been updated.

Has anybody else seen that what was Rand Logistics is now calling itself "Mainstay Maritime" or something like that? I dont know about the subsidiary fleets like ASC, LLT, GRN or Andrie but seems like the umbrella owner has changed names.

Wise move in my opinion, Rand had a pretty well deserved bad reputation on the lakes and nationwide. Their recent few years of accidents and incidents didnt help much either. Hopefully the rebrand brings new fortunes to them.
