Re: Indiana harbor
The collision with the Lansing Shoal Lighthouse pier occurred on September 9, 1993. I can't recall which mate was inattentiveness, but I do recall that he never showed up for the US Coast Guard hearing and as a result he lost his license. The Indiana Harbor had departed Bay Shipbuilding the previous day after the completion of a 5-year hull and coast guard inspection. After the collision, the Indiana Harbor immediately returned to Bay Shipbuilding where a 60 foot by 60 foot section of hull had to be replaced. She returned to service on October 22, 1993.
As for the collapsed bulkheads, that occurred in April of 2009, and the Indiana Harbor sailed to Bay Shipbuilding for the installation of new bulkheads.

The Indiana Harbor plowed full speed into Lansing Shoal light on September 9, 1993 in clear conditions. The Indiana Harbor had just completed repairs/survey at Bay Shipbuilding when the collision happened. Damage to the ship was valued at $1.9 million. I recall that the mate that was on watch lost his license after he refused to appear at the USCG hearing.

Re: Indiana harbor
Indiana Harbor had a close encounter of the embarrassing kind with the Lansing Shoal lighthouse 8 September 1993 that culminated in $1.96 million in damages, blame placed on a third mate. Is that the incident?

Indiana harbor
Does anyone recall what year it was when the Indiana harbor left winter layup in sturgeon bay and I believe they ran into Lansing shoal and had to return to sturgeon bay to get repairs done to the front of the ship. Please correct me if I’m wrong about Lansing shoal. I also recall when they left winter layup in superior headed to silver bay to load and they had some sort of problem with the hold of the ship caving in and had to return to superior for repairs but don’t remember what year that happened. Any info is appreciated as my memory is not what it used to be.
