Thank you Alan. I guess I had assumed that it was a forum on it's own, not a sub-forum. I go to that page 2-3 times amost days, and had not noticed it.

Go to the main page http://newsearch.boatnerd.com/ and Click on the "Information Search" Board and the at the top of that board "Random Vessel Passage".

Can somebody please tell me where the "random vessel passage section" is located?

This is just an observation, not a criticism. There is a random vessel passage section which I thought would be used for just that, and people asking about a vessel ID.
