From the looks of the twin ports and Two Harbors schedule, I'd say the Edwin H. Gott will be the last boat up bound, and the Presque Isle will be the last boat down bound.

I don't believe that it will be the Speer as she is due to load up at Two Harbors on January 10 at 2330 from Duluth Shipping News. There are "three" boats scheduled to load on January 13 from the Duluth Shipping News. Cason J. Callaway at Duluth at 1200 and the CSL Assinboine at BN#5 in Superior at 0230 and Presque Isle at Two Harbors at 1930. If that schedule holds up, I would say the Presque Isle could be the last boat through the Locks just in time before they close up for the winter unless a Lower Lakes boat is the last one through the Soo such as the Saginaw maybe.

My guess would be Edwin H. Gott or Edgar B. Speer

Last Boat at the Soo Locks?

Well, it is that time of year again with the Soo Locks closing date of January 15 anyone care to guess who will be the last boat at the Soo for the 2012/13 shipping season? From Duluth Shipping News' website "lots of boats" are due to load their last and final cargo of the season just days before the lock closing date.
