A rumor was referenced in the Vessel Passage page for Buffalo which seems to indicate that indeed Fortitude will remain laid up. Here is the passage

"I also keep hearing rumors about the AmericanMariner running grain in here for ASC. Supposedly some equipment may be removed from the American Fortitude for the Mariner. I don't know for sure, it's a little too early to tell. She would be the biggest boat in the crick of all the times if that were to actually happen."

From what I have heard Fortitude will not come out unless there is demand. In recent years Fortitude has spent part of the season sharing Duluth to Buffalo with Adam E. Cornelius. I have heard Cornelius will remain laid up this year as well. That particular run will likely go to American Mariner if indeed Acorn and Fortitude both remain laid up.

From some of what had been posted on the old information search page, news is that the steamers for American Steamship will remain laid up this year unless demand warrants otherwise. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can amend this if other information has come to light.

Has anybody heard if the American Fortitude (Courtney Burton) will be sailing this season? She's my favorite, and I sure miss seeing her.
