Where would I find the historical page you are talking about?

Using the search box on the Boatnerd site produces nothing on the SS Grand Haven.

"On this Day" has nothing about the Grand Haven in the past week.

It was flying the flag of convience even after it was running between port burwell and ohio. Hope it had to carry a pilot.

Yes. Grand Trunk sold Grand Haven to the West Indies Fruit & Steamship Company on 16 September 1945 for around $100000. It had been idle since 1930 at Manitowoc except for a short stint in 1937, and the fleet's smallest carrier. After numerous delays the vessel left Port Everglades on its first trip to Cuba 3 June 1946, having left New Orleans 28 May 1946. The service was intended to bring general freight to Havana and return with reefers of produce.

I'm pretty sure the historical page has the year wrong for the sale of the SS Grand Haven to the West India Fruit and Steamship Company. I think that sale took place shortly after World War II to replace a couple ferries that has been requisitioned by the navy and were lost in the war.
