They were indeed loaded as they had a load of stone that they were delivering to Duluth. I believe the stone load was to be unloaded at the CN-Hallet #5 Dock in Duluth. They loaded from I think it was both Stoneport, Michigan along with Meldrum Bay, Ontario. The Oberstar has done this type of trip with stone before so, she’s no stranger as far as coming into Duluth loaded with stone. She will probably go out empty from Duluth to Marquette to load ore pellets there. Hope this helps.

I recently observed the Hon. James L. Oberstar enter the Duluth canal where the ship appeared loaded. Was the ship loaded or was the ship in ballast? Thank you.
