St. Mary's River 9 mile pt. ?

Nine Mile Point, on navigation charts, is on Sugar Island and is almost directly across (east) from the end of Eight Mile Road on the mainland. The road is also named Eight Mile on the island.

I believe nine mile point is located on sugar island.

I think that it is off 9 mile road, south of the locks.

In today's new gallery Roger LeLievre has some great photos that appear to have been taken at 9 mile point. Were these taken by land or by sea? If by land how does one access 9 mile point? Thanks!
